Lina Khalifeh

Empowering Women Through Self Defense Trainer

Lina Khalifeh has more than 17 years experience practicing martial arts like Taekwondo, Kick-boxing, Kung Fu & Boxing. She is a 3Dan black belt in Taekwondo and has represented Jordan in many international tournaments.

Appalled by violence against women, especially domestic violence, Lina decided to train women in self-defense. She started in her parents’ basement in Amman, Jordan, and in 2012 set up her first SheFighter training studio, the Middle East’s first self-defense studio to empower women both mentally and physically.

In her studio, SheFighter, Lina teaches self-defense through a combination of taekwondo, judo and kung fu. The studios have trained more than 12,000 women to date. Although Lina is an extremely humble person, she is tenacious when it comes to her goals. She believes that women in the Middle East deserve the same respect as anyone anywhere.

In 2014, Lina received the “Woman in Business Global Award” organised by the UN in Geneva. And recently Lina received the Economic Empowerment Award at the 2018 Global Leadership Awards ceremony in Washington, D.C. for her work in women empowerment.

She has met and worked with a number of high profile leaders and celebrities. American president Barack Obama praised her as a role-model in his speech for the “Emerging Global Entrepreneurship” event.

Today Lina continues her focus on empowering women and growing the SheFighter brand globally.
